Lila graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication as a Gerald J. Ruben Scholarship recipient. Thanks to this scholarship and scholarship awards while competing and earning the title of Miss Wisconsin 2023, she is proud to have graduated debt-free.

With a love for reading and writing, Lila initially had plans to study history or political science on the pre-law track. After her first journalism class, she realized the importance of journalism, especially knowing the lack of freedoms and resources much of her family lives with overseas. Storytelling as an art became a passion of hers. Throughout her time in college, she wrote and published numerous articles at The Badger Herald, a student-run newspaper on campus. She also spent a semester on the board as the Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, working to bring in speakers for the student body. Lila also spent three years with internship opportunities that gave her experience and insight into marketing and social media strategies.

Shortly after graduation, Lila spent a few months working in social media marketing before beginning as a broadcast journalist at WMTV 15 News in Madison.
